Turn your script into an animated video
Script to video means turning words you already wrote into a finished video. Paste your script and Motion2D keeps your wording: it splits it into scenes, draws each one, and narrates your lines, rather than rewriting them.
Your wording stays yours
In script mode, the AI is told to keep your meaning and your wording, and only to split it into scenes. It is still AI, so give the narration a listen before you publish; small tidy-ups can happen at scene breaks.
That makes it the right choice for YouTube scripts you have already tested, course modules, client work with approved copy, and anything a lawyer has read.
- Your wording kept, not rewritten
- Scene breaks chosen from your paragraphs
- Scripts up to about 20,000 characters
How to format a script for animation
Write for the ear. One idea per paragraph works best, since each paragraph usually becomes a scene or two. Keep sentences under about 25 words so the narrator has room to breathe.
Put notes about the look in the notes box, for example a busy market at dawn, warm colours. They guide the drawing without being read aloud.
Example: a 600-word script becomes a 4-minute video
A YouTuber pastes a tested 600-word script about the economics of airline seats into script mode. Each paragraph becomes one or two scenes: a ticket counter, an empty plane, a seat map turning red as prices rise. The narration reads her words; the notes ask for a dry, witty tone and simple flat colours. About 4 minutes, so it uses 5 credits.

Script mode or topic mode?
Use script mode when the words matter: approved client copy, a course module, a script you've already tested. Use topic mode when you'd like Motion2D to research and write: a quick idea, a new subject, a Short. Both give the same quality of animation; only who writes the words changes. See text to animation for topic mode.
Questions and answers
Which AI should I use to turn a script into a video?
If you want your script kept word for word and illustrated as a cartoon, Motion2D's script mode is made for that. If you want stock footage, tools like Pictory are closer; see our comparison.
Will the AI change my script?
It is told not to. Script mode keeps your wording and only splits it into scenes, though you should still listen through before publishing.
Can I use a script in another language?
Yes. Paste it in any of the 11 supported languages and choose that language for the voice.
How many words make a minute of video?
Roughly 140 to 160 spoken words per minute at a natural pace. A 1,000-word script runs about 7 minutes.
Can I mark where scenes should break?
Start a new paragraph where you want a new scene. Paragraph breaks are used as scene breaks.
