From storyboard to video in one pass

An AI storyboard generator plans a video scene by scene before it is made. Most stop at frames to approve. Motion2D plans the same things, with shots and camera moves, and then keeps going until the storyboard is a moving, narrated video.

The storyboard is still there, inside

For every scene, Motion2D decides the setting, who is in it, what they do, how the camera moves and how long it lasts. That plan is a storyboard. The difference is that it goes straight to animation instead of stopping at panels.

For pitches and pre-production, that animatic is often more useful than static frames: a client can watch it, with timing and voice, before anyone commits to a budget.

  • Scene, shot and camera plan per beat
  • Timed to the narration
  • Watchable animatic instead of static panels

When you still want panels

If your process needs printed storyboard panels to sign off, use a dedicated storyboard tool for that step. Motion2D does not export individual frames as a board.

Example: a pitch animatic in an afternoon

A small studio pitching a children's series pastes a 300-word treatment into script mode and asks for 2 minutes. The result is a watchable animatic: the main character introduced, the world established, the first conflict set up, with timing and narration. The client sees pacing and tone, which panels can't show, before anyone commits to a budget. Two minutes uses 3 credits.

See startup pitch videos for the same approach applied to investor decks.

What a storyboard decides, and what Motion2D decides for you

A storyboard answers: what we see, who is in it, where the camera is, how long it lasts and what is said. Motion2D answers each of those for every beat of the narration. You steer with the notes: close-ups on faces, wide establishing shots, slow pacing. To change the plan, change the notes or the script and make another version.

Writing the script well is still the biggest lever; our animation script guide shows how.

Questions and answers

Can AI generate a storyboard and turn it into a video?

Yes. Motion2D plans the scenes and animates them in one run, so you get a video rather than panels.

Is there a free AI storyboard generator?

Motion2D isn't free (plans start at $20 a month). It produces animated videos, not exportable storyboard panels.

Is this useful for pitching?

Yes, an animatic shows pacing and voice, which still frames can't. See startup pitch videos.

Can I export storyboard frames?

Not as a panel sheet. You can pause the video and take screenshots, but there's no frame export.

Can I change one scene?

Not individually. You can redraw the whole look, or add scenes to the end. For a different plan, edit the script and remake.

Your next video starts with one sentence.

Type a topic. Motion2D researches it, writes it, draws it and voices it.
